Shaun Samson (part 1)

Central Saint Martins produces some of the most creative, and boundary challenging fashion students in the world. It is famous for advocating a conceptual teaching style and has alumni that hold influential positions worldwide. Although the graduate BA students are only just embarking on the beginning of their careers, they demonstrate focus and individuality with their collections.
Hailing from San Diego, California, but currently somewhere betweeen London and Los Angeles, Shaun Samson has been a slave to fashion since the age of 6. He's graduated with multiple degrees from two different colleges, in two different cities around the world. He wanted to get a taste of it all before he made his final decision to pursue fashion. He studied everything in design from manufacturing and product design, to cultural studies and fine art. He visited factories in Hong Kong, and attended shows at Paris Fashion Week. One of his biggest influences, and his mentor, is Jeremy Scott. Shaun Samson worked directly with him for a couple of years, and has since assisted the team during fashion week in Paris. He hasn’t missed one of the shows for the past five seasons ! Jeremy Scott let Shaun help him with many outside projects as well. He assisted him for his collaboration line with Adidas, and helped to make custom outfits for his celebrity friends. Shaun made costumes that Madonna used on her Sticky and Sweet Tour, and even assisted Jeremy to fit a custom dress for Beth Ditto of The Gossip, to just name a few special projects he helped with.
