Pringle of Scotland

The inspiration at Pringle this season was 1960s street style. That explained the presence of a sweater and cardigan, in tobacco and olive leather, respectively, that wouldn't have looked out of place on Carnaby Street in the mod era. But this isn't a collection that wears its influences on its sleeve. The label is all about basics like corduroy jackets, argyle sweaters, and wool peacoats, delivered here in trim silhouettes, a mix of solids and checks, and a palette of quintessential masculine shades such as navy or cognac. Whether it emanated from the street or not, there was gutsiness to the clothes that hasn't always been there in past seasons. That was evident, for example, in a shrunken black leather bomber jacket or a quilted ¾-length coat with a camel cashmere lining that would be perfect for today's scooter kids.
