Romeo Gigli, 59, was born in Faenza, Italy into a wealthy aristocratic family. One need only look at his boyhood to find the beginning of his love of luxury. His father was in the antic book business and he now acknowledges his ideas are mostly taken from pictures of 15th and 16th century books.
