The new experience of creativity with a conscience available in a collection of Six Scents. Bringing change personally and globally. The Six Scents Fragrance Initiative is an ongoing collaboration between Symrise, Metaproject and Seven New York (110 Mercer Street, for people who don't know). Annually, a distinct group of six prominent artists and perfumers are selected to develop a limited edition series of fragrances to help raise money for a deserving charity. The collection represents a global gamut of contemporary views on creativity, culture, conciousness and collectivity.
Curated by Joseph Quartana of Seven New York, Six Scents Series One will feature fragrance collaborations between fashion designers and perfumers : Alexandre Herchcovitch and Joachim Correll, Bernard Willhelm and Lucas Sieuzac, Cosmic Wonder Light Source and Philippe Paparella-Paris, Gareth Pugh and Emilie Coppermann, Jeremy Scott and Philippe Roques, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Mark Buxton. Individually numbered with custom packaging, each designer frag will be offered in a limited quantity of two thousand units only. A percent of the net proceeds will go towards awareness and funding for the Designers Against Aids (DAA), Int'l Aids Awareness Education Center in Antwerp, Belgium scheduled to open in December 2008.
Pictured above is Diagonal, the special fragrance designed by Brit enfant terrible Gareth Pugh and French "nose" Emilie Coppermann. It's about ambiguity and duality. Diagonal is a struggle between lightness and darkness, cosmos and chaos, the contrast between different raw materials, masculine and feminine, rough and smooth, fresh and sensual. You'll find notes of dill and black tea, nutmeg and black pepper, palissander and amyris, amber and musk. Only very few fragrances have dill in their composition, but Eau de Lalique has it too.
