It might seem a slightly unusual idea for a fashion collection to take as its primary basis an Oxford college common room, but Kean Etro's designs seem to be majoring in an old-fashioned kind of preppiness that is seldom found outside such rarefied enclaves. The overcoats are tweed, the pants smart cords, the shoes Oxfords or brogues. Admittedly as the collection continues, there is the odd less formal touch -some funky knitwear here, some stylishly ruffled model's hair there- but this is about as traditional and old-schoolish a collection as can be imagined.
