The Preeti Jain rape case seems to have come back to Haunt Bollywood producer & director Madhur Bhandarkar. A Mumbai court today convicted Bhandarkar saying it will conduct an inquiry into rape charges by upcoming actress Preeti Jain in 2004.
The Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate while rejecting the adverse report by police said it would conduct an inquiry into the case and record Preeti’s statement on December 22.
Trouble seems to be far from over for Madhur Bhandarkar with a local court today saying it will conduct an inquiry into rape charges by aspiring actress Preeti Jain against the filmmaker who, however, is unlikely to face arrest.
“Madhur had promised to give me a lead role in his films. However, he didn’t offer me a lead role in any of his movies. At times when I refused, he raped me,” she said then.
“The court’s order rejecting the report is a stamp on the genuineness of my case,” Jain told reporters outside the court.
