Alexandre Eustache, 21, is a French photographer based in Paris. He's into fashion and portraiture but he admits he's often in front of his own lense. He kindly accepted to answer the standard Morphosis interview.
Lestat : What's your background, Alexandre ?
Alexandre : Campus des Métiers et de l’Artisanat.
Lestat : How did you start your career ?
Alexandre : When I was at the Arts Déco, I was offered a digital camera. Then I bought the digital reflex. The passion grew from that moment on and when I realized it, I decided to make this passion my job.
Lestat : What’s a working day like ?
Alexandre : I usually work alone. I have my own ideas of the final results. That said, I'm open to any serious propositions. I'd like to work with other artists.
Lestat : Who / what inspires you most ?
Alexandre : Everything inspires me. Fashion designers, situations on the street, faces... I like bizarre, weird things. Anything out of the ordinary.
Lestat : How was the process of your last shoot ?
Alexandre : My last shoot was done for stylist Adrien Gonzales Abba, who's a fantastic artist. He had his ideas for the photos and so had I. We mixed our ideas, and voilà. The process for a shoot is discussed at first with the team to create a story-board, which mainly includes sketches. Then places and models are yet to be found.
Lestat : What do to prefer to shoot… and why ?
Alexandre : I prefer to shoot anything related to fashion or art and of course portraits. Creating a universe is much more exciting than just pictures of the everyday life. I love it when there's magic. My job gives me the opportunity to tell stories. My stories, my dreams. And possibly have people dream.
Lestat : What would be the perfect next shoot like ?
Alexandre : The one that would give me no limits.
Lestat : Is love important to you ?
Alexandre : It is.
Lestat : What do you wear to bed ?
Alexandre : My camera.
Lestat : Funny answer to my stupid question ! And do you spend much time on the Internet ?
Alexandre : Definitely.
Lestat : Answer the question you’d like to be asked.
Alexandre : No idea, I'm blond too !
