Founded by Laura and Vittorio Moltedo in Northern Italy's Veneto region, Bottega initially made its name with footwear, bags, and accessories crafted from the area's renowned hand-woven leather. These days, the label is just as well known for its effortlessly luxurious tailored clothing. Credit for that goes to creative director Tomas Maier, who joined the brand in 2001. "I don't like overly visible colors", Maier said of his ultra-refined approach. "I like to see the guy rather than the clothes". For this season's collection, Tomas Maier worked with an earthy palette (latte, ivory, cream, stone and burgundy) at Bottega Veneta, where traditional fabrics came in the shape of cosy jumpers and single-breasted suits, topped off with jaunty bowties. Coats were all-embracing and almost every look came complete with a smart brief case bag.
