Man About Town #5 (part 1) Alex Loomans (part 5)

"Pulling your weight" is the title of this much too short editorial that features smashingly dapper Alex Loomans shot by Tom Allen for the latest issue of Brit fash mag Man About Town.

First used in the early 19th century for cavalrymen to practice mounting and dismoutning, today the Pommel Horse still offers one of the most dynamic upper-body sessions. The entire weight of the body is supported by the wrists and hands, requiring sustained strength and resulting in sculpted shoulders and arms. Regular Pommel Horse work-outs also enhance focus, dexterity, timing and balance.

Ring training is designed to improve endurance. Pull-ups from a fixed bar work the arms and chest, but the Rings employ all the upper-body's stabilizing muscles -just to say stationary. The more proficient can attempt the Iron Cross strength move : executed by extending both arms straight out from the sides of the body while suspended mid-air, for at least two seconds. Plus it looks awesome.
